1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using NewsAssist AI (the "Service"), a property of NewsAssist AI, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of a legal firm, news organization, or academic institution, you represent that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.

2. The Service and Professional Use

NewsAssist AI provides specialized AI analysis tools for professional use in Journalism, Legal, and Academic research. The Service includes, but is not limited to, transcription, summarization, data extraction (Entity Finding), and integrity checks (Citation/Source Verification).

A. AI Output Disclaimer:

All content generated by NewsAssist AI (summaries, abstracts, entities, headlines) is provided for informational and analytical assistance only. The output is based on proprietary models and is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate, complete, or current. Users in all sectors are solely responsible for the review, verification, and final publication of any output.

B. Legal Disclaimer (Specific to Legal Users):

NewsAssist AI does not provide legal advice or represent an attorney-client relationship. The Pleadings Draft Assist and Entity Finder features are workflow tools and must be reviewed by qualified legal counsel.

3. Data Privacy and Security (Core Agreement)

Your data privacy is our absolute priority. This section outlines our core commitment:

A. User Data Control (Zero Data Retention):

NewsAssist AI adheres to a strict Zero Data Retention architecture regarding your confidential content (uploaded documents, transcripts, or legal filings).

Processing: Content is processed in-memory for the duration of the analysis session and is immediately purged upon completion or session termination.
Storage: All draft data, including client-side saved summaries and Project Workspace files, is stored only on the user's local device (client-side storage/IndexedDB). You are solely responsible for managing this local data.
Model Training: We do not use, retain, or train our AI models on any of your proprietary uploaded documents or content.

B. Audit Log:

We maintain an Audit Log which tracks metadata (User ID, action, timestamp, filename) for compliance purposes. This metadata is stored securely but never contains your confidential content.

4. Intellectual Property (IP) and Ownership

A. User Content Ownership:

You retain 100% ownership of all intellectual property rights in the content, documents, and data you upload to the Service ("User Content").

B. AI Output Ownership:

You own the final output generated by NewsAssist AI based on your User Content (summaries, extracted entities, infographics).

5. Account and Payments

The Service is provided on a subscription basis, billed as per the Plans & Pricing page. All payments are non-refundable, subject to local consumer laws. Accounts are licensed for the named user or team size and may not be shared outside of the organization.

6. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, including but not limited to fraudulent activity or sharing licenses.
